COVID-19 Virus Update and Support

Breast Friends of Pennsylvania logo

We here at Breast Friends of Pennsylvania are each closely monitoring all the news and data related to the COVID-19 virus. Based on the initial information, instituted some common sense social distancing, and communicated with volunteers, board members as well as program participants. We are reminding them to stay home if experiencing any symptoms of viral illness. It has become evident that these measures alone are no longer sufficient to keep our higher risk population safe. We take this situation seriously as we recognize the people we serve, with cancer often have suppressed immune systems, putting them at significant risk of infection and complications. We also are committed to ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.

All support groups will be canceled until further notice. as well as wig appointments.  We will revisit when in person  support will start up as we monitor reports.   Please know that we will be available to you over the phone. Please reach out.   Given the quickly evolving nature of this health threat, we will continue to monitor daily and make additional changes as needed. We will update you as these changes occur.

We recognize the amount of uncertainty and anxiety this virus may cause. It is important for you to know that we are here to support you regardless of our ability to do so in person. We thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this unique situation with the urgency our members living with cancer deserve.

Take this time to rest. Enjoy a book, watch a movie or just get a needed reset and relax. Thinking of you

Vivian and the Board.
