Tai Chi Martial Arts

Being born and raised in Brooklyn, NYC, I’ve always felt there was more to life than the daily grind of living in New York City. Being athletic as a young man by getting involed playing many different sports and staying active.
I started my Martial Arts journey in 2014 as a means to help my mental and physical state from my stressful Culinary profession.
It started with the basic kicking and punching, which helped me regain awareness of my physical body more than playing regular sports allowed. However my training hit a point when I realized that I had several limitations in my body that was holding me back from advancing.
That’s when yoga began for me in 2017, at The Yoga Room in LIC and Astoria Queens. The yoga practiced helped my stressed and depressive mental state more than I could of every imagined. The following year my Kung Fu Master Joseph Cheung started teaching me Tai Chi, and I instantly felt a deep connection to this Art. Since then I’ve started a dedicated daily practice, I’ve been taking a comprehensive dive into learning and practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
And then the pandemic happened, the hotel I worked for closed, and I was laid off for the first time. It was my opportunity in disguise, to finally move from the city because my soul yearned for wanting to be closer to nature and Poconos was a obvious choice as I already ventured here yearly before, for camping and snowboarding trips. This move has definitely helped strengthen my connection with the spiritual side of my practice, bringing Mind, Body, and Spirit in full circle.
In 2022, I was sworn in as a Disciple of the Dragon Phoenix Martial Arts System at Cheung MA Academy, to pass on the knowledge of the arts. My passion now is to keep the art alive by shining more light on the healing energies of Tai Chi and Qi Gong through teaching, sharing, and discovering how amazing the human condition is.
